Mon-te, n. (Sp. and It.) A mountain

hence the name... "Mountain of Beauty Yoga"

My first yoga experience started in the early 70's, in New Haven, Connecticut, where I am from. That first class won me over immediately. I've been practicing on and off the mat ever since, experimenting with different styles, including Kripalu, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Anusara.

I've been teaching in the Boston area since 1999. I completed a 200 hour teacher training certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, in 2000. I am also a member of Yoga Alliance, as a registered yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training. I also have over 700 hours of training in the Anusara tradition.

I offer nurturing classes filled with thorough instructions, developing my own style with an emphasis on alignment technique. I encourage my students to express the joy of yoga from the inside out, to come from a place in the heart with compassion, and connect the breath with each movement.

I am grateful to all of my yoga teachers who have been the inspiration behind my teaching. Each one of them has helped me to learn the knowledge of who I am, the tremendous beauty of yoga, and the honor of teaching.

But, it is the students, that continue to move and inspire me with their spirit, that has made me the teacher that I am today. I feel that they are amongst the greatest teachers in my life.
